Robes and matching slippers would be offered for sale at the third annual Canterbury Fair. The event was sponsored by the Women’s Board of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Everett cleaners that were offering pick up and delivery on ladies’ coats for 92 cents were Model, Popp’s and Everett on Hewitt Avenue, Diamond and Country Club on Wetmore Avenue, Valetor on Grand Avenue, Pinehurst on Madison Street, Union and Crown on Highway 99, and Beverly in Beverly Park.
25 years ago (1981)
Darwin Fisher had begun his own law practice, emphasizing personal injury and medical malpractice cases in Everett’s Wall Street Building. Recently associated with Wesley Duce and Kelly Gehret, Fisher would continue practicing probate, estate planning and real estate law.
A cold front huffed and puffed its way through Snohomish and Island counties, blowing out lights, blowing over garbage cans and sprinkling branches over many roads. One casualty was a bicycle shed at General Hospital; the shed was demolished.
