Leann Arstein registered to attend the Horizon Girls conference at Cama Beach as Dorothy Moore, conference secretary, and Elvera Krogh, a member of the planning committee, watched. Horizon Club girls from all parts of the Pilchuck Council of Camp Fire were gathering for the conference.
Don Schroeder’s yard in Edmonds was enough to make your jaw drop. He had 2,000 kinds of bulbs from tulips to daffodils, 16 species of pine trees, rhododendrons, euphoribia shrubs, a contorted filbert tree, a fantail willow and an assortment of other plants.
