The annual pancake breakfast sponsored by the Matron’s Guild of First Presbyterian Church was to be held in Westminster Hall. The event would feature juice, homemade pancakes, sausage, coffee and tea. Chairing the event were Ruth Precht, Lillian Newton and Helen Carter.
Popp’s Dry Cleaning and Laundry Plant had moved from 1407 to 1409 Hewitt Ave. Metropolitan Construction designed the changes. Belden Electric supplied the neon sign and reader board. Thorpe Furniture provided furnishings. Glasswork was done by H and D. Monteiro’s did the painting and decorating.
Myrtle Rowe of Everett wrote poetry as she reflected on her many years of teaching, some in Darrington. She said she taught until she was 70 because she lied about her age. She had grown up in an orphanage run by the Odd Fellows in Corsicana, Texas.
Joanne Carol Metzger and Donald Allen Levin were planning a June 20 wedding. Their parents were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Metzger and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Levin, all of Everett. She was student teaching at Lynnwood High School, and he was an Everett Tire and Battery salesman.
