50 years ago (1956)
Nora Murnen, president of the Auxiliary to Veterans of World War I, was the installing official when officers were inducted for the Marysville and Everett units. The ceremony was held in the Marysville Masonic Hall. Pernie Brannon was the new president for the Everett unit, and Alice Stock for the Marysville group.
Teenagers could be better baby sitters now and better homemakers later if they got a little experience, according to Sharon Clark, a ninth-grader at South Junior High School. Making a final report on her home project, she brought along 6-month-old Sherry Menzies to show classmates and teacher Fern Christensen.
25 years ago (1981)
Dave’s Barber Styling at 1416 Hewitt Ave. was now presenting Judy West. A professional with extensive training in braiding, style cuts, perms, color and Sebastion hairstyling, she was formerly of Third Dimension at Everett Mall.
