Bob Smith was now associated with Al Beauchamp Real Estate and Insurance. At the firm, he joined Al Beauchamp, Al Beauchamp Jr., Dot Peabody and Wes Hall. Smith had previously been manager of the Woolworth store.
Seven members of the Business &Professional Women’s Club were in charge of making arrangements for the card party the club was giving at the Elks Home. They were Gertrude Schock, Nell Holstad, Marguerite Stormfels, Bina Albro, Betty Davis, Dolly Sexton and Authelia Lowman.
After 50 years of service to the elderly, Bethany Home announced a $750,000 fundraising program that would pay for a new kitchen and a therapy work area. Sen. Henry M. “Scoop” Jackson was the honorary chairman of the fundraising drive.
Doug Donaldson of Mukilteo was appointed head of a newly formed commercial property division of Wilson, Daughtry and Butts, commercial real estate brokers at 2917 Pacific Ave. Donaldson had two years’ experience in the field, a master’s degree from Georgia College and 10 years’ experience in personnel management.
