Members of the YMCA’s women’s basketball team, the Falconettes, were Mary June Larimer, Marge Shroyer, Thelma Taylor, Birrell Dinnetz, Marilyn Streeter, Leslie Vail, Doris Whitchurch and Susie Triesch. Jo Ann Clark was their coach.
North Junior High School’s drama class, directed by Robert McIntyre, staged a play for ninth-graders at South Junior High School. The thespians were Carol Zaretzke, Bill Maher, Bob Orr, Sharon Glenzer and Lynn Buse. Other students who performed were Cheryl Tapert, Kathy Rowe, Dolly Mallon, Sharon Smith, Sally Wood, Clancy Mace, Bonnie Moomey and Marry Ann Dennis.
A 4.5-acre site near the 128th Street I-5 interchange was being considered for a park-and-ride lot. The site, which would have 429 parking spaces, was just off Post Road. Money was available to design the lot and buy the land, according to project manager Harold Morgan.
Snohomish County hearing examiner John Galt was to reopen a hearing on the Hewlett Packard Co. request for a rezone that would permit it to build a major new manufacturing plant near Lake Stevens.
