50 years ago (1955)
The Snohomish County PUD was opening its new headquarters at California Street and McDougall Avenue. The building replaced a structure built in 1902 that had served as the electric street car barn.
25 years ago (1980)
Russ Larson of Everett, a native of Snohomish, was appointed manager of Shoreline Savings’ Woodinville branch. Another banker in the news was Edward Adams Jr., branch manager of the Marysville Seafirst branch, who was named bank president.
The Port of Everett signed a 40-year lease with a San Diego developer for a 3-acre shopping and restaurant complex near the port’s recently expanded marina. The development would include three restaurants. Port manager John Belford said negotiations on terms had slowed the project.
