Everett artist Don Bettger built a replica of a Viking longship. The sculpture was 20 feet long and 7 feet abeam. Made of fiberglass, cedar, oak and mahogany, it had red-and-white-striped sails. He had recently sailed it to Deception Pass, catching a salmon along the way.
Snohomish had a new real estate office, the recently opened Armstrong Realty Inc. Marsha Armstrong managed the office, and Richard Armstrong Jr. owned the company.
