Irene Hutchings was entertaining members of Group VIII, Children’s Foundation of Everett General Hospital, at her home. Assistant hostesses were Joan Newman and Kathleen Arnold.
Two meetings for sewing clubs of Thelma Lodge No. 26, Daughters of Norway, were scheduled. Club No. 2 was meeting with Ragna Helland, 2202 Rockefeller Ave., with Anna Wangen as assistant hostess. Afhild Mikkelborg, 1909 McDougall Ave., would be hostess to Club No. 3.

The Everett Area Chamber of Commerce named Dan Duryee Jr. citizen of the year. President of D.A. Duryee &Co. Inc., an Everett real estate and insurance company, he was cited for his activities in the YMCA, Red Cross, the business community, local government and his church. Distinguished service awards were given to William Evans of Boeing and Larry Hanson of The Herald.
General Telephone Co. of the Northwest announced it would move about 400 employees in its network engineering and construction into the recently completed Wall Street Building.
