Construction was started on a new clinic at 3223 Colby Ave. for Dr. Rollin Wyrens, urologist. Wyrens hoped to have the office open by November. John Evans of D.A. Duryee handled the land purchase.
Carole Carter performed during the Music in the Bowl at Forest Park. She was a member of the Evergreen Drillettes, which shared the performance with the Eagles Bank, Everett Little Drum and Bugle Corps, square dancers and accordionist Loretta Cook.

Violinist Connie Knudson, 20, formerly of Everett, walked off with yet another musical honor. Participating in the Skene Aberdeen Festival in Scotland, she received the top award: a $2,000 prize and a trip. She was the daughter of Ken and Ruby Knudson of Lynnwood.
The county was seeking input on a road revision west of I-5 in Marysville. They were considering realigning Marine Drive to eliminate two sharp curves. They also planned to replace bridges at Quilceda and Sturgeon creeks.
