50 years ago (1955)
The boom in south Snohomish County continued. Oscar Johnson was building a new building for Fred Fourtner in downtown Edmonds. Lynnwood’s Ed’s Market was under construction. Evergreen State Bank had a new branch in the lower Mountlake Terrace shopping center. And Woodway School was nearing completion.
25 years ago (1980)
Despite the mediocre weather more than 15,000 flocked to the 12th annual Paine Field Air Fair on Saturday. A crowd estimated between 70,000 to 80,000 jammed the grounds on Sunday. Jim O’Connor was chairman of the Air Fair committee. The fair was sponsored by the Lynnwood Rotary Club.
