50 years ago (1955)
All county teenagers were invited to attend dances at the Gulls Nest this summer. The Everett High School youth center, which had been remodeled, was above Meve’s Cafe at 17051/2 Hewitt Ave.
The grand opening of the Sea Horse Snack Bar and Delicatessen at 705 Front St. in Mukilteo was set. It was in a new concrete block building with sun-resistant floor-to-ceiling glass and modern interior birch paneling. Helen and Bob Wilkes promised friendly, courteous service.
25 years ago (1980)
The judges came and went, but Myrtle Muckey was the constant that guided Everett District Court through its years of rapid growth. She retired after 18 years as chief clerk and court administrator. In 1962, the court had two part-time judges and two full-time employees. Now it had three full-time judges and 21 employees.
Roberts and Co. Hair Design on the south end of Broadway claimed to be one of the finest salons in the county. Stylists were Phil Roberts, Rhoda Roberts, Ronald Anderson, Ben Flores, Jean Hewett, Debbie Mahon, Wayne Scott and Jana Sharp.
