Big shot Hollywood producer Mr. Friday (Jim Ennis Jr.) surprised movie star Rodney Bevan (Tom Anderson) in the act of proposing to the studio waitress (Christine Freeman) in a scene from Everett Junior College’s production of “Boy Meets Girl.” The production was performed in the college’s Trojan Arena Theater at 26th Street and Rockefeller Avenue.
50 years ago (1980)
The average price of all grades of gasoline rose 5.8 cents a gallon to $1.24 during a four-week period ending March 21, according to the American Automobile Association. Diesel fuel averaged $1.12, an increase of 3.3 cents.
Two Snohomish County stores applied to the state Liquor Control board to move their existing class EF licenses to sell beer and wine for home consumption. They were the 7-Eleven on Armar Road in Marysville and Tollefson’s Market in Lynnwood.
