50 years ago (1955)
The Methodist Youth Fellowship Council was carrying on its tradition of a turkey banquet. Busy preparing dishes were committee members Linda Diedrich, Earl Moneymaker, Kathy Koukal, Carol Morton and Gloria Leveille. Eleanor Davis was in charge of the decorations.
A new home for Sager Construction and Repair Co. was rising on Bond Street across from the Great Northern Railroad station. It was being erected by C. Lawrence Maynard of Everett, who was rushing the work for early occupancy.
25 years ago (1980)
Three businessmen were appointed to fill seats on the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce. They were Robert Dickson, president of Frontier Bank; Nina Haynes, president of Everett Community College; and Patrick Williams, treasurer-comptroller of the Snohomish County PUD.
Two business leaders were honored by the Everett Business College and KRKO Radio for contributions to educational career development. The luncheon, held in conjunction with National Education for Business Week, honored Bob Carlson, advertising and publicity director at Chaffee’s, and Lyle Ball of Central Washington University.
