50 years ago (1955)
Roger Stearns’ seventh-graders at South Junior High School were enjoying their new surroundings. The class moved from the old Jackson annex into the portable classroom at the rear of the main school building. The building was constructed by the Everett High School carpentry class and moved to South Junior High to help with overcrowding.
Root Motors at 2501 Broadway would be the authorized Mercury-Lincoln dealer for the Everett area. Eldon Root said the firm would continue to service the Hudson line until another Hudson dealership was announced.
25 years ago (1980)
Gary Gallagher, a broker at Crown Realty in Lynnwood, had a new assistant. Hal, a computer, could call residents and remind them that national studies showed that homeowners changed residences once every three years.
