Emma Bennett was presenting a demonstration on making stocking dolls to members of the Busy Bee Home Demonstration Club at their meeting in the home of Betty Hansen. Presiding over the meeting were the newly elected officers, Ann Houk, Lowanda Davis and Betty Hansen.
E.V. Mendenhall, partner in the Jack Westland Insurance Agency of Everett, announced the addition of Jack Adams to the insurance department of the real estate and insurance agency. Adams was a native of Boise, Idaho, and a graduate of the University of Washington. He served in the infantry during World War II.
25 years ago (1979)
The state Department of Ecology halted work at the county’s new Cathcart landfill just two months before completion amid speculation that further work in wet weather could destroy the $4 million project.
Citizens of the month at Alderwood Junior High School were ninth-graders Kirsten Forde and Cliff Pollatz, eighth-graders Marla Beggerly and Rodney Wolfington, and seventh-graders Carol Dahlen and Marc Huruschka.
