50 years ago (1954)
Whittier School student Barbara Wold of 725 Grand Ave. showed her principal, Owen Forbes, what she had been learning in geography. Looking on were her mother and sixth-grade teacher Myrtle Lawrence. It was a scene repeated scores of times as parents visited Everett classrooms and got acquainted with teachers and principals.
25 years ago (1979)
Officials broke ground for the new Woodside Elementary School at 17000 23rd Ave. SE in the Everett. The Cascade High School band played, and colors were presented by Bluebird, Girl Scout and Cub Scout groups.
