50 years ago (1954)
John Zuanich, a student staff photographer at Everett Junior College, was presenting a pictorial character study of “The Life of Commercial Fishermen” in the college building at 25th Street and Oakes Avenue.
Freshmen Dwayne Lane and Vic Hussey, former Everett High School running backs, were impressive as members of Everett Junior College’s backfield. They were expected to see action against Olympic Junior College at Bremerton.
25 years ago (1979)
The Everett Planning Commission was considering a permit for a limestone milling operation in an area of the waterfront where the port district hoped to phase out industrial activity. Washington Stone Corp. was seeking permits for a plant behind the Collins Casket Co. building. The site was the former home of the Hulbert Lumber Mill.
Bob Lalone for 34 years had been selling cars, trucks and RVs at Brien Motors Fordtown, 5200 Evergreen Way. A graduate of the Ford Motor Institute, he was qualified in Ford model trucks.
