Floors were being laid at the new Everett Federal Savings and Loan Association building under construction at Hoyt Avenue and Wall Street. Watching the progress were architects Harold Hall and Arthur Graves, and contractors Simon Newland and George Duecy of Associated Sand and Gravel. This is the same building in which the new Imagine Children’s Museum opened on Sunday.
Neil Kosbab and Stan Cooper, Everett High School tackles, and 16 other seniors were ending their prep careers as the Seagulls hosted O’Dea High School at Memorial Stadium.
25 years ago (1979)
Those planning to get married could pick up a free copy of the Bride’s Guide in the Bridal Shop at Chaffee’s, 2918 Colby Ave. An experienced consultant was on hand to plan the perfect wedding, from the all-important gown to fashions for the entire bridal party.
McPhersons Realtors at 5917 Evergreen Way listed new luxury homes at View Point Condominiums, 8108 53rd Ave. W. These were built homes of brick and cedar, and ranged in price from $73,750 to $195,000. They had quality carpeting, fireplaces and top-of-the-line GE and Jenn-Air appliances.
