50 years ago (1954)
Philip Zalesky, president of the Everett Mountaineers, was selected to be a delegate at the 23rd annual meeting of the Federation of Western Outdoor Clubs. The meeting, planned for Labor Day weekend, was to be at Nesika Lodge on the Columbia River.
Members of the 732nd Transportation Company reserve unit, which usually trained at the Naval Reserve Armory in Everett, got some extra training in Yakima. Kenneth Lewis and Burton Burns of Everett, Sherman Sessions of Stanwood and Henry McDaniels of Gold Bar were some of the men who attended the training session.
25 years ago (1979)
The Everett Opera Guild held a fashion show and luncheon at the Everett Golf and Country Club. Beverages were served before the meal. Eleanor Foote, Nancy Morgan, Jean Henry, Virginia Babich, Mary Waltz, Florence Miller, Kay Straughan, Jackie White, Amy Youngstrom, Grace Bargreen, Becky Buck, Sadie Swartz and Scott Akerman all helped with the event.
The Happy Hopper Square Dance Club was offering a series of 24 beginner lessons at the Tulalip Dance Ranch.
