50 years ago (1954)
Chuck Hilen and Bob Cassidy were heading up plans for the Charter Night anniversary observance of the Everett Junior Chamber of Commerce, to be held at the Elks Home. The Jaycees and their wives and dates would gather for a social hour, dinner and dancing.
Don Jennings presented the Exchange Club’s Boy of the Month award to Don Johnson, while William Lucas presented the Girl of Month award to Marilyn Almgren.
25 years ago (1954)
Bayside Realty in Mukilteo invited the public to meet its real estate professionals. Working in the office were Shirley Monteith, Rob Anderson, Sally Kessler, Ed Mueller, Penny Sleight, Doug Meyer, Bob Ingram, Mack McMoran, Joann McMoran, Don Oberg and Pat Tamulty.
Si Newland, student at Everett High School, hoped to be earning $50,000 in business law by the time he was 30. Linda Sparman of Lake Stevens wanted to earn $30,000 to $40,000 but felt she would need a college degree to do it. Cathy Woolman of Granite Falls wanted to be physical therapist and expected to be doing the same work at age 50 she was doing at 30.
