50 years ago (1954)
Twilight Chapter No. 246, Order of Eastern Star, met at the Masonic temple for its first fall meeting. Brede Berg acted as patron in the absence of Leo Barry. The chapter room was decorated by Emily Wharton, assisted by Katherine Keith. Refreshments were served by Norene Jacobsen, Mildred Hovey, Emily Bryant and Pearl Kelly.
Cpl. Edward Tollefson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Tollefson of 1516 Puget Drive, was home visiting family and friends during a 30-day leave. At the end of the furlough he would report to Fort Lewis for assignment in the Far East.
25 years ago (1979)
Paul Craggs of Granite Falls had a role in the television soap opera “Love of Life.” Craggs wanted to become a star “overnight,” and pointed out that Christopher Reeve and Peter Falk had started their careers on the same soap.
Jeffrey Thompson, president of the 1980 senior class at Meadowdale High School, was the fourth student adviser elected to the Edmonds School Board. He was the son of Ann Thompson and the late Dr. Howard Thompson.
