50 years ago (1954)
Margaret Walter Paine, an Everett artist, presented her sculptor’s master copy of a bust of A.H.B. Jordan, Everett pioneer and philanthropist, to Jack Irwin, art director of the Snohomish County Museum Association, and Bertha Bonner, association acquisition chairwoman. The bust was on display as part of National Art Week.
Marie Ross, women’s adviser at Everett Junior College, was attending the Washington State Deans of Women and Girls conference at Holy Names College in Spokane. Delegates heard addresses by Eleanor Peterson, superintendent of guidance in Spokane, and Lulu Holmes, assistant dean of students at Washington State College.
25 years ago (1979)
Pioneer First Federal Savings and Loan Association was sponsoring an IRA Seminar. Principle speakers were Alfred Holte, chairman of the board; Stanley Lee, senior vice president; and Mary Kirsch, tax supervisor.
