Everett Vacuum Sales and Service at 2318 Broadway was having a sale. Trades and no carrying charge were available on more than 200 vacuums, including Rexair, Kenmore, Airway, Silver King, Eureka, G.E. and Lewyt.
Snohomish Eagles Auxiliary planned to attend the district meeting at Salmon Bay Aerie Hall in Ballard. Mary Porter and Pauline Brainard were initiated.
25 years ago (1979)
Everett veterinarian Edward Diamond was seeking re-election to the state Board of Education. Diamond considered giving up the seat when the Legislature tried to take control of school construction, but Gov. Dixie Lee Ray vetoed that.
Chuck Lee, long associated with swimming activities and civic works with the Jaycees and other organizations in Everett and Woodinville, received special recognition from the state Veterinary Association. The award was presented by Jack Alexander from Edmonds, state president.
