Wally Rodland, used car sales manager at Follestad Nash, and police officer Ed Downey examined broken windshields at sales lots at 50th Street and Evergreen Way and 20th Street and Broadway in Everett. Similar incidents happened in Bellingham and Skagit County. Altogether, 34 cars had pitted, cracked or broken windshields.
Warren Nelson, a page in the U.S. House of Representatives, was to arrive home Saturday to spend Easter vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Nelson of Marine Acres.
Overcoming stomach and leg cramps in cold, rainy weather, Herm Atkins placed ninth in the Boston Marathon. The 30-year-old Everett runner ran a personal best time of 2:14:27. Another Everett runner, Ken Hoerath, fashioned a commendable 2:28:09 in a field of 7,800 runners. His time also was a personal best.
A Foster &Marshall proposal for selling $8.5 million in revenue bonds would be presented to Port of Everett commissioners. If accepted, bonds would be sold to finance the expansion of the marina, adding about 1,200 moorages, port manager John Belford said.
