New officers were installed by Old Guard Post No. 2100 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and its auxiliary. Harold Hall, Everett attorney, became commander and Helene Worland president of the auxiliary.
Hausmann’s Broadway Market and B&M Food Store at Hewitt Avenue and Broadway had a new and enlarged parking lot.
Carl Gipson, Everett city councilman, was elected chairman of the Association of Snohomish County Cities and Towns. John Enborn, mayor of Mountlake Terrace, was named vice-chairman. Vic Sood, director of the Snohomish County Public Transit Benefit Area, was the main speaker at the meeting.
Crown Distributing Co. broke ground for a new 2,800-square-foot warehouse and office building at 3409 McDougall St. When completed the new facility would feature a climate-controlled refrigerated warehouse to store the firm’s products, which included Rainier Beer. Since 1933 Crown had grown from four employees to 30. Fifteen delivery trucks would operate from the new facility.
