Harry Fowler was planning an open house. After selling Studebakers from 2521 Colby Ave. for 21 years, he moved to a three-story building at Pacific and Rucker avenues that had served as a Kaiser distributor.
Everett was hosting a conference of Hi-Y and Tri-Hi-Y clubs in the Pacific Northwest. Making plans for the session were: Dave Bolin, Mary Kittleson, Joanne Walton, Darlene Anderson, Steve Mosman, Marlene Nordahl, Jeanette Joyce, Barbara Hublou, Vic Hussey, Joni Calkins, Ken Overhold and Janice Fitch.
Everett’s downtown Santa House was now in Monroe, storing papers collected for recycling by the Monroe Youth Club, thanks to General Telephone’s Involvement Corps. Darlene Wendall coordinated the moving effort. Hoglund Transfer and the National Guard also helped. The building was donated to Everett by King Size Photo.
Christy Reinstra captured first place with a 17-foot-long jump at the Bellevue Community College and Field Relays. She also was a member of the Trojans’ 880 relay team that took second, the 440 relay team that took third and the mile relay team that was fourth. Other members of the relay were Kathy Mauer, Tammy Kolkana and Lynn Megard.
