The U.S. Army Reserve announced that William N. Granger of Lowell was appointed a warrant officer. Granger was formerly a master sergeant in Everett with the 732nd Transportation Company, in which he served for years.
After a year in Asia, Gary D. Fay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fay, 7412 Beverly Blvd., returned to the United States. A diesel engineman, Fay was aboard the carrier USS Yorktown, which docked at Alameda Naval Station after an extended cruise.
Chris Loken and Co. at 2807 Rockefeller Ave., serving Everett for 71 years, reminded all that it was window-cleaning time. They had window squeeges, brushes, extension poles, scrappers, freeform sponges, chamois, ammonia and tri-sodium phosphate.
The Sky Valley Commuter began bus service between Gold Bar and Bothell. Rany Kok, who boarded in Sultan, was the lone rider on the first run. The white bus with blue trim and lettering was also the Stevens Pass Shuttle, a new service of Outdoor Adventures, a Gold Bar enterprise. The company’s general manager was Jim Warford.
