Bill Bolcom was to be the featured soloist at the Everett Symphony concert. Bolcom was one of the outstanding young composer in the city. He had received repeated honors in the highly competitive field of musical composition.
Mary Kay Pearson, newly elected president of Los Cielos chapter of Horizon, received a gavel, mark of her office, from the outgoing president, Marilee Smith. Also present was Thelma Van Patten, adviser of the group.
By now, Rosalynn Sumners was a familiar name in Snohomish County. The 14-year-old ice skater from Edmonds was getting ready for the Olympics. She had worked seven years to earn a national championship.
An open house was held for new condominiums at 22nd Street and Grand Avenue. Grand Harbormaster, a four-unit luxury condo, overlooked the waterfront and Port Gardner Bay. Gregory Lueth and Kenneth Moberg were owners. Carl Larsen was general contractor and Olympic Bank furnished the financing.
