Susan Baker entertained at a dance at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Baker. Honored guest for the welcome-home party was Judy Koehler, who had just returned with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Koehler, from a two-month stay in Mexico.

The basketball game against Meadowdale would be the last at Everett High School’s "pit." The old maple-wood court with seating that surrounded the court on three sides was giving way to a new gym across Wetmore Avenue. Memories would endure, such as Bob "Pufty" Cummins’ first jump shots on the floor’s first team to become state champs. Or fellow player Boody Gilbertson’s swisher in a coaches’ game against the Harlem Globetrotters. Others were Elgin Baylor’s play for Seattle University against Portland State University, and Nebraska coach "Slippery Joe" Cippriano’s winning hook shot for Nooksack Valley.
