Martin Tjeltveit, pioneer member and past president of Normanna Lodge of Sons of Norway, was honored by the organization recently. The presentation was made by Arnold Zempel, lodge spokesman.
Raymond Owen Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Raymond Owen Sr. of Pinehurst, and JoAnne Coupe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Moore Coupe of Seattle, were married. The bride attended the University of Washington. The groom graduated from Everett High School and was serving with the U.S. Navy. The newlyweds planned to live in San Diego temporarily.
New county officials sworn into office were prosecuting attorney Russ Juckett and commissioner Don Britton. Incumbents sworn in were assessor Robert Shaw, auditor Henry B. Whalen, coroner Robert Phillips, county clerk Kay Anderson, Sheriff Robert Dodge and treasurer Kirke Sievers. New District Court judges were Steven Clough, Thomas Wynne and Roger Fisher.
General Telephone named Robert Myres as its new vice president and general manager for the firm’s northern area. Myres had been supply director of General Telephone Northwest since 1971. He succeeded Gerald James, who left Everett to become an assistant vice president in engineering with GTE.
