The coveted Luther Halsey Gulick Award was presented to Dorothy Gall and Bert Vanderbilt for their services to Camp Fire.Fred Swalwell and Russell Swalwell, owners of the Wellworth Co. in Everett, were in Los Angeles to obtain production and layout information and new equipment for their drapery business. The brothers were adding more than 1,300 square feet of floor space to their factory.
After a long hiatus, herring were once again in the waters along the Everett waterfront. Sport fishermen were delighted to find that large numbers of the small, silvery fish were available for the catching near the log-loading piers south and east of Western Gear.
Aurora Village in Shoreline was to undergo a multimillion-dollar facelift that would add as much as 100,000 square feet of new retail space. Also, the shopping mall would be fully enclosed.
