50 years ago (1964)

Purchase of the Home Tavern at 1414½ Hewitt Ave. was announced by Lil Anderson. She had possession and was already operating the business. Anderson previously was the business agent for the Culinary Works and Bartenders Union, and before that head cook and manager at the Sport Center.

Robert L. Cannon Jr., of Route 1 Marysville, had qualified for the 1964 assistant managers school sponsored by New York Life Insurance Co. Cannon, assistant manager in the company’s Everett general office, was attending the school in New York City.

25 years ago (1989)

Zee’s / A Bridal Shop had moved to a new location in Marysville at 1519 Ninth St. Suite 101. The shop featured bridal apparel, evening wear, tuxedo rentals and other wedding accessories. Juli Olson was the owner.

MacPherson’s Inc. Realtors’ Lynnwood office was honored for the third consecutive year as the company’s office of the year. Office managers were Fred Mus, Earl Swanberg and Bob Vick. Other MacPherson employees who received awards were Rod DeWalt, Faith Holste, George Neal, Riley Harmon, JoAnn Obeara, Jack McAlister, Michale Anderson, Shirley Metcalf and Lorraine Luschen.
