Percy Montroy was congratulated by his fellow employees of The Daily Herald on his 30th anniversary with the paper. Now with the display advertising department, the veteran spent most of his years with the paper in its classified ad department.
Reservists Roy Hannem, Norman Patterson, Wayne Weber and Keith Buechel were charged with making arrangements for a big party Everett’s Naval Reserve men would hold at the Monte Cristo Hotel. A smorgasbord would be served, followed by dancing to the Kord Kings’ music.
Faye Irwin of the Snohomish County Museum and Historical Association posed in the crowded Legion Park museum building amid an array of artifacts. The association was hoping a $500,000 bond issue would pass to buy or build a new, bigger museum structure.
Jo Love Beach was a member of Chaffee’s Career Women Fashion Board and public information coordinator for the Everett School District. She had a master’s degree in adult education, was president of the Washington School Public Relations Association and was active in Girl Scouts, Everett Chamber, Zonta and Delta Kappa Gamma.
