Everett Barnacle Club was to meet at the home of Orrie Swartz, 4021 Friday Ave. Assistant hostesses were Rose Hickey and Marcel Bean. A Christmas party and exchange of gifts were planned.
Tommy Winde, son of Ross and Harriet Winde, celebrated his sixth birthday with a party at his home. Present to help him cut his cake, which was topped by a cowboy in full regalia, were Marilyn Winde, Terry Haverland, Kippy Cady, Janey and Arthur Ward, Ozzie Dyre, Brian Miller, Margaret and Gary Malstrom, and Paul Johnson.
Stanwood tenor Dave Thorsen was to be the featured soloist at the Norwegian Male Chorus’ 73rd annual Pre-Christmas concert. The complementary concert would be at Central Lutheran Church. Barbara Logan and Kristen Dobler were pianists. Bjorn Heglie directed the 40-voice chorus. The program included a pair of Norwegian songs and would conclude with "O Holy Night."
Edmonds Community College’s Oratorio Chorale, directed by Wallace Engelbrekt, was opening its second concert season with a performance at Edmonds Senior High School.
