For the third year now, Mukilteo’s Rosehill students were collecting clothes for St. Christopher’s Mission near Bluff, Utah, in the northwest corner of the Navajo reservation. The drive was being done by the school’s Service Club, an affiliate of the National Junior Honor Society. Ruth Frank was the club adviser, and Paul Eklund headed the committee in charge of the clothing drive.
The Maryville Lions Club met at the Rainbow Cafe with Art Fagin as program chairman. Claire Dobler of Everett gave a talk on the early development of Everett and the surrounding country.
Al Wexler welcomed merchants and customers to Village Square, south Everett’s newest shopping center at 7207 Evergreen Way. Businesses were Picadilly, Rainier Credit, Hobby Tech, Travel Connection, Postal Instant Print, Just Your Type, Serendipity, Klein Ski House, Juntila’s Clothes Horse, Rawe’s Jewelry, Barclay Hair, Carl Allen Studio, ColorTile, Los Amigos Restaurant, Evergreen Photo, The Price Tag, La Wig Boutique, The Children’s Shop, Dottie’s Queens, Sunflower Shoppe and Ye Olde Frame Shoppe.
