A two-day event celebrated the grand opening of the Bon Marche’s Men’s Shop. It was in the building south of the main one that had been occupied by the Balboa Theater. Doors opened onto Wetmore Avenue. Claude Sarvis was manager.
Also remodeled and with three times the floor space was Betty Variety Store, open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day at 3320 Everett Ave. An ad said their diversified stock included everything from pins to pile-drivers.
