Heading the Mothers March of Dimes this year was Mrs. K.L. Ritchie. She was among the leaders to be introduced at the kickoff at the Monte Cristo Hotel.
Smiling Bluebirds with leader Gwen Brodniak, assistant leader Evelyn Bryant, sponsor Florence Hayes, and other students from Miss Nora Burglon’s second- grade class at Wilson School, accompanied by some parents, spent a holiday afternoon at Burglon’s artistic Scandinavian home on Rucker Hill.
Former Everett High School star athlete Dennis Erickson joined the staff at San Jose State University. He left a similar post at Fresno State where he was an aide for three seasons. Before that he was an assistant at his alma mater, Montana State University, and at the University of Idaho. He also had coached at Billings (Mont.) Central High School
A new floral business, Rosie’s Place, was open at 9108 Evergreen Way, near Terry’s Thriftway. Owned by Rosie and Jim Isaman, the business offered fresh and dried flowers, floral designs, plants and delivery.
