With the cooperation of the Park Department, North Everett Lions Club and Everett Racing Pigeon Club, the Hobby House at Garfield got a new roof and other improvements. Elwin Anderson, O.W. Walker, A.W. Erickson, Art Sunde, Frank Woltring, Cliff Higer and Bud Newell were in the work party.
Appointment of Maurice Coy, county probation officer, as administrative assistant to the chief probation officer was announced today by Paul Christiansen. Coy was elevated to fill a vacancy by the recent resignation of Mike Sullivan. He would be director of the county detention home.
25 years ago (1988)
Kima Ramstad, manager at Pets Northwest, spent an afternoon at Everett’s Forest Park with Shaka, an 18-month-old serval. The animal, which was brown with black and white spots, was a close relative to the cheetah and could reach speeds of 35 miles per hour, Ramstad said.
Sophomore quarterback Terry Cloer completed touchdown passes of 30 and 32 yards to senior wide receiver Darryl Cloer to lead Darrington to a 14-6 non-conference football victory over host Friday Harbor.
