50 years ago (1963)
Bill Williams was named commander of Earl Faulkner American Legion Post at its annual election Tuesday. He succeeded Al Cochran, who presided over the meeting at which Ross DeMondbrun was named a trustee. Others named to offices were Art Amundson, Rudy Fry, Bill Killien, Frank Krepela, Bob Boyle, Martin Dinsen and Paul Ewing. Much of the evening was given over to reports by William Jordan, general chairman, and Bud Alexander, finance chair, on plans for the Fourth of July observance.
Three girls took top honors in the recent color contest of Chester Beard Shoes. Jerrilyn Williams won a merry-go-round. Leslie Pierce took home a carry-all cart. Donna Bartholomew was enjoying her new yard slide.
25 years ago (1988)
Precision Screen Graphics had expanded and moved to a new location at 11627 Airport Road, Suite L. Its new services included 34- by 44-inch copy capacity and delivery service with minimum orders. Martin Schneider was the owner and Michelle Schneider was the manager.
Richard Duval, a county resident, earned an Award of Excellence in feature photography in the recent International Association of Business Communicators Northwest Classics Competition. He was a communications consultant specializing in marketing communications and public relations.
