50 years ago (1963)
Thomas S. Blue, a teacher in Arlington, was accepted into the National Defense Education Act Counseling and Guidance Institute. He was one of only 30 people selected from throughout the United States. The Arlington School District had given him a year’s leave of absence to attend the institute.
Don Steffen, of Monroe, was one of the many Holstein breeders who would be exhibiting registered Holsteins at the Washington Black and White Show at the Evergreen Fairgrounds. A third generation Holstein breeder, Steffen was pictured with Skykomish Eldora Rose Leader. She would be shown in the senior get-of-sire class as well as in the individual classes.
25 years ago (1988)
Molly Molloy-Becraft of Everett had been named marketing director of Lincoln Property Company. She previously was a marketing/sales coordinator in the financial industry.
John Hardy, of Everett, was named vice president of finance and administration for D.A. Duryea &Company Real Estate. Hardy previously held the same title at Telematic Products of Bothell. He would be the chief financial officer and also assume overall management responsibilities for the company’s property management and subsidiary escrow company.
