50 years ago (1963)
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Graydon Robertson and their sons Darryl and Michael was showcased. The new home not only commanded a sweeping view across the Snohomish River valley and Cascades, but was perfect for ball games, track meets, circuses, fireworks and other events at Everett Memorial Stadium. It was located on an unusual site that had once had a trail for students on their way to Longfellow School.
Mr. and Mrs. James Hayes of Hailey, Idaho, had purchased the Arlington Creamery Lockers from Mr. and Mrs. Lester Beilke. No change in operation policies was planned in the business located just south of town.
25 years ago (1988)
Kathryn A. Holt of Snohomish last week received her master of science degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Meanwhile, over in Pullman, Anne N.P. Pham, a 1983 Mariner High School graduate, received one of 42 Minority Merit scholarships offered at WSU under the Glenn Terrell Presidential Scholarship program.
Local service personnel earning special awards included Army Sgt. Jeffrey L. Marken of Arlington, Army Sgt. Bryce E. Ramsey of Sultan, and Donald L. O’Flanagan of Marysville, a lance corporal in the Marine Corps.
