50 years ago (1963)
The Everett Presidents Council was meeting at the Everett Public Library. Owen Forbes, assistant superintendent of schools, would speak on dropouts. Council President Betty LeGros asked that all clubs be represented as officers for next year would be elected.
Chosen by a vote of fellow seniors and faculty, Everett High School’s annual commencement speakers would be Mary Sisson, Chris Smith and Nick Thomle. The speakers, who would take part in the graduation ceremonies June 5 in the Civic Auitorium, were selected from members of the Class of 1963 who were also members of the Three-Year Honor Roll.
25 years ago (1988)
“Perennials without Pain” was the subject of a free Master Gardener lecture at the Snohomish County Extension Education Center, located behind McCollum Park in south Everett.
C. Benson Smith and Lorry G. Hudson of Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery were dedicated to meeting people’s needs. Smith, a Yakima native, had moved to Snohomish County in 1984 and now resided in Mukilteo. Hudson, an Everett native, lived here.
