50 years ago (1963)
High school girls would be out in force tomorrow pushing the sale of Easter lilies for lapels to raise funs for the Easter Seal Society. Among them would be Mary Willson, Chris Smith, Cheryl Peterson and Maureen McDonough, all of Everett High.
Tomorrow was the grand opening of Putt-A-Way miniature golf course on north Highway 99 across from the Hill Drive-in. Eighteen holes of fun were only 50 cents.
25 years ago (1988)
The Marysville City Council chose the merchants’ proposal for handling traffic at the busy intersection of Fourth and State downtown. The proposal left existing street parking in front of business on State from First to Fifth, but still provided the necessary extra road width for a center turn lane recommended by the state.
April showers wouldn’t delay May showers at Hanging Basket Nursery in north Snohomish County. A new horticultural facility was being constructed by Ed Hoessman Sr., Ed Hoessman Jr., Nathan Hoessman and Lynn McCutchen. The men braved a driving rainstorm yesterday to work on the greenhouse.
