50 years ago (1963)
A scholarship tea was the subject of discussion for committee members of Delta Kappa Gamma’s two local chapters. It would be given at the home of Doris Sellhorn. Also involved in the planning were Georgette Cook and Ione Nelson.
Sadie Rapp held two of the 250 bells in her unique collection. The bells were collected over a period of many years by the south county woman. They varied in height from one inch to one foot. One was a 10-pound old iron clapper bell.
25 years ago (1988)
Paine Field was about to become a place where new businesses could take flight. A 52,000-square-foot incubator building was being readied at the south end of the Snohomish County Airport to accept new or expanding light-industrial tenants. It was scheduled to open March 16.
Bzzt! Crack! Snap! That was the sound of law enforcement in Marysville. The sound came from a stun gun, a small black object about the size of an electric razor. The police was pleased with their first one and were purchasing four more for $150 so that each patrol shift would have one.
