50 years ago (1963)
Frank Greenshields, owner and manager of Greenshields Industrial Supply, was honored by the Everett Junior Chamber of Commerce at a dinner banquet honoring the “Bosses” of Jaycees. Others who spoke at the banquet at the Alpine Cafeteria included Dave McCort and Dwayne Lane.
Snohomish County Public Utility District’s new Silver Lake Substation located on Stock Show Road was recently completed and now energized serving electricity to users in the Silver Lake-Eastmont areas. The structure was all aluminum a new design, requiring less maintenance.
25 years ago (1988)
Bayside Realty at Fourth and Lincoln in Mukilteo congratulated Ulla Rudd, their top-producing real estate agent for 1987. She had also been their top producer in 1985 and 1986. Those looking for a home or having a home to sell might want to contact her.
A wanted poster in the paper featured two mug shots of Ron Harper of the South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce. He was one of a host of unsuspecting county citizens and public figures who would be arrested and incarcerated at the Alderwood Mall on Jan. 26-28. They would need help from friends making bail. It was all to support the American Cancer Society.
