50 years ago (1963)
Architect John Bryant explained the site plan of the Eastmont School to Everett School Board members Myrtle Ferrell and Stan Mitchell. Bryant was working on plans for the south-end elementary school which the district expected to have ready for use by September 1964 or sooner.
The Man and Woman of the Month at Everett Junior College were Molly O’Brien and Fred Chriscaden, both of Everett. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank O’Brien of Rt. 5 and he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Chriscaden of Rt. 3.
25 years ago (1988)
Frederick &Nelson announced the opening of their Red Tag Clearance Center in the Cascade Plaza at 7601 Evergreen Way. Savings of 30 to 50 percent were advertised on women’s sportswear, coats, dresses, shoes, accessories and designer apparel, and on housewares and domestics.
Sophomores Karen Wright and Kaia Forde each scored a game high 12 points to lead Lynnwood to a 48-44 upset victory over top-ranked Bainbridge in Western Conference AA girls’ basketball. Michelle Clemans added eight point and 11 rebounds for the Royals.
