50 years ago (1963)
Hjalmar Olsen announced the purchase of property adjoining his Olsen Motor Service at 2417 Broadway to be used for an expanded used car operation and parking. The Nifty Nook restaurant, previously there, was being razed and considerable improvement would be made to the added property.
Security Copy Co. Inc., 4931 Evergreen Way (B&M Shopping Center), announced the appointment of Robert A. McClure as general manager, effective immediately. McClure was returning to the Northwest where he lived for four years after his service in the Armed Forces in 1950. He brought 13 years to the graphic arts and production field.
25 years ago (1988)
Silver Lake Christian School said now was the time to enroll. To familiarize the public with the school they were having an open house on March 20 that also included a musical drama.
Smart Leprechauns knew that Taylor’s Landing at the Mukilteo ferry dock was the place to be to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Starting at noon on the 17th they were featuring piping hot Irish stew served in a fresh sourdough bowl and corned beef and cabbage. They also had drinks to warm the Irish soul.
