50 years ago (1963)
Ken Dart, local material supplier, was completing another “all-purpose” commercial building at 2416 California St., a half-block east of the county PUD offices. An interesting feature of the structure was the use of plywood box beams, one of today’s newer, more versatile building components.
John Sigfrid Lundberg Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Lundberg, Rt. 1 Lake Stevens, was enlisted in the Navy at the Everett Navy recruiting station. He enlisted under the three-year program which was available to young men of high calibre and was about to undergo basic training in San Diego.
25 years ago (1988)
Christine McShane of Everett had begun publication of Finesse, a monthly magazine for the active Snohomish County women. McShane was working with the publishers of Business Pulse Magazine to produce the publication. Lori R. Zue was managing editor.
Julian Randall fought any weekend he could get off work, but he was not a street tough or aspiring boxer. He was training to be a knight. A Boeing inspector, Randall traded street clothes for medieval leg armor and became Squire Julian Edward Farnsworth. Games and exhibitions took place at the Evergreen Fairgrounds.
