50 years ago (1964)
Frank Weeks, general manager of Cascade Tractor Co., and Arnold Jones, salesman, were among the 56 Ford tractor dealers and personnel of Washington and Oregon who were attending a worldwide tractor conference in New York City this weekend. It was expected to be the largest event of is kind ever held.
A new company called Everett Cablevision Inc., had purchased the TV. Cable Co. Inc. of Everett, it was revealed by Wally Nelskog, president and director of the new corporation. The new owners planned to completely rebuilt the existing TV cable system.
25 years ago (1989)
Pete Kinch and Connie Niva, Everett’s two mayoral contestants, debated about Everett’s downtown. Both said it had to be strong. Kinch said the empty storefronts were not just a economic issue, but an issue of pride. Niva said that everyone with an Everett address had a stake in downtown redevelopment.
Snohomish County PUD recognized Gary L. Blalock, mail machine operator III, as its October 1989 employee of the month. Blalock demonstrated a positive and willing work attitude, dependability, a competitive nature and interpersonal skills.
